David Bowie - we hope the "Fame" was worth it

After the very sad news this morning about the passing of music icon David Bowie after his battle with cancer. I thought it would be appropriate to revisit his classic “Fame” which reflects on a life Bowie seemed destined to lead. The song itself was co-written by Bowie and friend John Lennon, who had exchanged conversations regarding fame and celebrity.

Fame, it’s not your brain, it’s just the flame

That burns your change to keep you insane

While Bowie is best know for the track its most crucial element is provided by guitarist Carlos Alomar while Lennon repeats the title “Fame” over and over. Hopefully all and all the fame was worth it for Bowie, I for one certainly think so.

Listen to his latest album, Backstar here. R.I.P. David Bowie.
